Mervyn
Wakefield is a freelance educational
consultant and trainer who is probably the UK’s leading expert in curriculum
organisation and timetabling. He taught in secondary schools in this country
and abroad for 16 years before becoming an LEA inspector in the north-west.
He has also had 10 years experience as an Ofsted Inspector working in both
primary and secondary schools.
Mervyn
began timetabling in the early ‘70s and has used a wide variety of manual
and computer systems for constructing school timetables. He has been directing
timetabling courses for over 20 years for a variety of different educational
organisations and leading CPD providers. As a consultant, Mervyn is regularly
called into schools as a troubleshooter in timetabling, and last ‘season’
he constructed the timetable for three comprehensives and worked alongside
the timetabler in two others in the UK and one in S E Asia.
